Jessica Benoit RVT, CPDT-KA

Jessica Benoit was born and raised in Edmonton, Alberta. She shares her life with her wonderful husband,  daughter, son, and their three dogs and cat. She is passionate about  teaching pet parents how to best motivate and connect with their pets. She is always learning about the newest science-based methods of training to better serve her clients. She has a special interest in teaching children how to best interact with dogs and understand their body language, so everyone can stay safe and enjoy their pets.

Jessica is a Registered Veterinary Technologist, Certified Professional Dog Trainer-Knowledge Assessed, and Licensed Doggone Safe presenter. Her education in training and behaviour stems from conferences and seminars taught by Board Certified Veterinary Behaviorists, Veterinary Technicians with their specialty in behaviour, and mentorship by world renowned dog training professionals. She is Fear Free certified and is currently working towards her specialty in behaviour as a Veterinary Technologist.

Erica Cheung B.Sc., Dog Trainer

Erica is a dog trainer and animal welfare advocate with a Bachelor of Science from the University of Alberta and is Fear Free certified. Her education includes advanced study in comparative psychology, animal behaviour, and animal welfare. She also has several animal care certificates for a variety of animal species. She is working towards a graduate degree and future certification as a behaviourist. Erica has contributed to many research projects in animal behaviour and learning as a student and as a research assistant. She has been an invited speaker at the Alberta SPCA animal welfare conference, published articles on pet care in national magazines, and has been president/training director of Alberta Schutzhund Club (a group that practices and promotes positive training in tracking, obedience, and protection) for the last 3 years. She is a member of the German Shepherd Schutzhund Club of Canada, Alberta SPCA, and the Animal Behavior Society.

Erica’s training strategies emphasize strengthening the human-animal bond and resolving behaviour issues through positive training techniques. She has a particular interest in dog reactivity and building a strong foundation for puppies in order to prevent future behaviour problems. She is also interested in parrot and small animal behaviour. Erica regularly attends conferences, dog training seminars, and classes with her own dogs to continue improving her teaching skills and methods. She stays up-to-date on the latest animal behaviour science research and integrates this knowledge into her work with clients.

 

Chantal Turcotte, Assistant Trainer

Raised in Edmonton, Chantal always had an interest in animals and surrounded herself with them as much as possible. She became interested in training after getting her dog, Blu. Chantal loves to foster and rescue animals and is always looking to expand her knowledge in training. She currently has two dogs and two cats.
